  • Blast from the Podcast Past: Podcast 11 – Conversation with Evernote CEO Phil Libin

Every now and then, I re-push an old-ish podcast that I think people might have missed and be interested in. I just listened to last week’s Net@Nite podcast #98 in which hosts Leo LaPorte and Amber MacArthur speak with Evernote CEO Phil Libin. I’m a huge fan of Evernote. I have Evernote clients installed on Windows, Mac OS X, Windows Mobile and the iPhone. And, its web interface gets used a lot by me too. So, if you missed it the first time around, I’ve embedded my conversation with Evernote CEO Phil Libin from earlier this year (January 30, 2009). You can find MobileViews.com Podcast (then called MobileAppsToday Podcast) #11 embedded above. You can also download it from the iTunes Store.

    – You can listen to the podcast right now from your web browser by using the embedded player above.
    – You can also subscribe to the podcast in iTunes or this RSS feed.
    – You can also point your smartphone’s browser at mobiletoday.podbean.com to listen to or download the MP3 file over the air to your phone.

  • Evernote Starts Podcasting

Evernote is one of my favorite apps because it does what it does well (record, store, and retrieve notes of all kinds) and because it has a great web interface as well as several native apps for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, Windows Mobile, and the iPhone. Evernote Podcast #1: Welcome Welcome

The blog entry says that the Podcast will be available for download via iTunes soon.

  • Evernote for iPhone Update to Version 1.2

Evernote updated their iPhone client to version 1.2 and added the ability to edit notes. I ran into this error (see image above) after downloading the update using iTunes though. And, I was not able to update it at all directly from my iPod touch. However, after disconnecting the USB cable, it looked like the application actually installed on my touch. Firing it up I found that the new client can only update notes that are purely text. Even a file that included hyperlinked text with no other formatting was not editable.

  • Evernote Monthly Usage Limit

I haven’t been using Evernote heavily for the past few weeks. However, I updated the Windows Mobile client on my TyTn this evening and noticed the Menu – Account Usage item and clicked on it. You can see from the screen cap above that there is a 40MB per month bandwidth limit. This is probably pretty reasonable for a free service. But, you may want to keep it in mind if you start using Evernote with audio of visual media (which would increase bandwidth requirements).
