Hardware

  • USB Flash memory drive works and mounts under the /media directory. However, I could not unmount drive using the umount as it is normally used. Even the forced option did not work. However, the lazy unmount appeared to work: umount -s /dev/sda1
  • USB mouse works
  • USB keyboard works with quirks. Shift key does not work. Caps lock key does work

Software

  • Date and Time: The default date and time was not for my time zone. I do not see an easily accessible preferences control panel. So, launched the terminal application became root (see below) and use the Linux shell date command to change the date and time. The format of the date command is: date MMDDhhmmCCYY where all the doubled characters are two digit numbers for MM
