PocketPC Touch Notes (freeware)
Just read about this on LifeHacker. Touch Notes is a free Pocket PC application. It lets you jot down notes in ink (drawing vs. handwriting recogniztion) and appears to have a simple way to organize these notes. It is definitely on my try soon list.

LEGO Mindstorms NXT + Bluetooth + Windows Mobile = Fun 🙂
The $249.99 LEGO Mindstorms NXT is the first major update for the LEGO robotics technology in several years. Among its many improvements is replacing the infrared wireless control with Bluetooth. Microsoft Windows Mobile developer Brian Cross made use of the recently introduced Microsoft Robotics Studio to get his Windows Mobile Smartphone to control a LEGO Mindstorms NXT robot. No More Microsoft Money for Pocket PC
If you plan to upgrade to Microsoft Money 2006 or 2007 and use it with your Pocket PC, don’t. According to the Microsoft web page Money for handheld devices and Palm Pilots, Money 2007 will not sync with any Pocket PC version and Money 2006 only synchronizes with Pocket PCs that run versions preceding Windows Mobile 5.
If you want something to help manage your finances on your Pocket PC and can sync with both Microsoft Money and Quicken, take a look at Spb Finance.

Excel Mobile Functions List
Microsoft recently published an article I wrote titled What’s New in Excel Mobile? One thing I didn’t write about in that article is about new functions. The reason for that is no new mathematical/logical/etc functions were added in Excel Mobile for Windows Mobile 5. So, I’ve had the function list and other Excel Mobile information tidbits available on this site for several years now. You can find it at:

Windows Mobile Terminal Client Port Assignment
Reader M.T. asks: I just read your article: “Get organized with Windows Mobile.†Nice job! I have a question: My tech is about ready to throw my hand held out the window! How can I connect the terminal services to a specific port? We are networked in my office and I can’t seem to connect remotely to my office computer. It doesn’t like the colon after the address and my four digit port number.
Also, is there any version of internet explorer 5.5 or higher that is compatible to Windows 5.0?
M.T.: A fellow Microsoft MVP has a great article about Remote Desktop tips at…
Windows XP Pro Remote Desktop configuration, use and troubleshooting help and tips…that includes a section on port assignments on the Pocket PC side. Head over to read that article and see if it addresses your question.
I’m not sure what you are asking regarding Interet Explorer. I’m assuming you are asking if there is some newer version you can upgrade to on the Pocket PC. If so, the answer is no.
