…that features info from Meghann Marco from The Consumerist website who provides tips on ways to get out of cellphone contracts without incurring a penalty. There are actually three related articles on page 5B in the March 15 (Thursday) issue. The impetus for these contract breaking articles is, of course, the impending release of the Apple iPhone sometime this summer.
Look everyone i have the answer but it is time consuming. i have used it with sprint, nextel, at&t, and verizon it works every time. All you have to do is when you call you provider talk to the rep for a minute tell them that what every they are saying is completely unacceptable. maintain haw they have not live up to what their adds promis in your mind they say you want their boss because they are being rude to you. when you get the supervisor state your case sound angry helps. but don’t swear they will cut you off. just keep complaining and asking they same questions in different ways after about and hour they will offer to terminate the contract and waive the fee just to get off the phone. and they are giving up usually $1250 when they do it for me because i always have had 5 lines.

i have been in my contract with orange now 10 months and i got the contract in an independant store and they told me that orange would be puting up new masts for better reception,so i waited nine months for even one reception bar when im at home and still no one rings my phone anymore because they can never get hold of me what can i do thanks
I have 1 yr. left on a 2 yr contract with Alltel. Can I get out of this contract without paying the early termination fee? How do they collect, charge you credit card? I also may need to cancel with Direct t.v. I am only 5-6 months into a 2 yr. contract with them.

I also have T-Mobile. For a while, I had received excellent service from them. I ended up upgrading my phone (I had a Razr and it was beat and had little life left in it…..was told had to upgrade to get a new phone which would extend contract sine my warranty was up on the Razr). So I did upgrade got a new phone, the Rizr. Had to get a new 2 year contract or they would charge for the phone. I have had the phone since October. In January I started school and have no service anywhere around the school, I have to drive about 15 minutes away to get service…what good is that????? called t-mobile they said oh, limited service there, cant do anything (yeah how sweet). Then cant get service is various other places…again, cant do anything. Now within the past month my rizr kept on freezing, could not place calls, dropped calls…its been HORRIBLE!! They replaced it 3 times already, finally sent me a different phone altogether…battery dies every day (Samsung T-629). charge it every night, full charge, next day it dies. Its ridiculous. Terrible service, shoddy phones and I get nothing from them other than we will send a new phone or that nothing can be done, to get out of the contract $250 bucks….how sweet.
I am under conract with t-mobile. When I originally signed up with them, I lived in a different area. I now live in an area that is very rural and I pretty much do not get service in most of the areas I travel through. My phone has become usless in most areas. I resigned a contract 6 months after I moved due to a broken phone, not realizing how bad to service was. I use a phone as does my husband and son, and when we are out and about, there is no communication due to no network available. T-mobile said it would cost $600.00 to end contract. I am sooooooo frustrated, any advice I sure would appreciate it. Thanks
